In September 2012, during travel from Dakar to Rabat I found a discarded television on the side of the road, I was inspired to use the screen to frame my images of African life and landscape, keeping in mind that the TV has a limited point of view and often used as a tool of manipulation. With my lens, I force viewers to see what’s both inside and outside the frame, encouraging them to compare city-to-city and village-to-village.
